Dhanjeet Kaur Honoured for Outstanding Contribution in Education and Social Service

                                                      Patiala: Dhanjeet Kaur, TGT English at DAV Public School, Patiala, was honoured during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 for her exemplary contributions to education and social service. The prestigious award was presented by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Ms. Dhanjeet Kaur was recognized for her innovative efforts in providing international exposure to students through cultural box exchanges, fostering global friendships and collaboration. Her initiative has paved the way for cross-cultural learning opportunities for the children of Punjab.

In addition to her contributions in education, Ms. Kaur has also shown remarkable dedication to social causes. She has been actively involved in organizing blood donation camps and working tirelessly to support the education of underprivileged children.

The recognition of Ms.
dhanjeet Kaur’s efforts serves as an inspiration to educators and highlights the importance of bridging cultural gaps and supporting community welfare. Her work has not only benefited the students but has also strengthened the bonds of global friendship and collaboration.

DAV observes Shraddhanand Balidan Divas and Sahibzade Shaheedi Diwas

     DAV Public School Bhupindra Road, Patiala observed Shraddhanand Balidan Divas and Chaar Sahibzade Shahidi Diwas on 23 December 2024 by sensitizing the students about the contribution of Swami Shraddhanand who was an Indian educationist ,  great Arya Samaj missionary and a close associate of Swami Dayanand Saraswati.  School paid  altruistic to great sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh ji and his sons to save dharma, all commemorated the martyrdom which has become an integral part of Sikh history.

Swami Shraddhanand ji worked tirelessly in promoting education, bringing social reforms and reviving Vedic culture. A special Hawan Yajna was performed under the  guidance of Ms Swaraj Joshi and Ms Rachna Sharma. Principal Mr Vivek Tiwari along with students and teachers paid tribute to great revolutionary Swami Shraddhanand ji by giving ahuties  in havan kund . Mr Vivek Tiwari expressing the secular spirit of DAV paid tribute to great Martyrs ,the great sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji ‘ Chaar Sahibzaade’ and Duggu a student of Class-8 delivered a speech and a poem by Palak Joshi of Class-8 made everyone remember the great sacrifices. The chorus of bhajans by Music Dept depicting the life journey of Shraddhanand ji ‘ which made everyone bow their heads in love and devotion.  

 To honour the great sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh ji and his sons a special assembly was organised in school premises in which Chaupai Sahib Path was recited by students and teachers. After that Shabad Gayan filled the atmosphere with divinity and gratitude.To remember the great sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh ji and his sons Bread pakoda langar was organised in school premises.
     While addressing the gathering Principal Mr. Vivek Tiwari said ,’ By observing great days and by remembering the contribution of real heroes  ,DAV wants to inspire our youth to understand their powers to face the challenges of life with courage and conviction.’

DAV Public School Patiala earned laurels 4th time in Youth Ideathon Awards in Innovation.

DAV Public School Patiala earned laurels 4th time in Youth Ideathon Awards in Innovation.
We live in a society where innovation creativity and entrepreneurship are most essential for the success of students in future. Youth ideathon 2024 has proven that India’s school students are brimming with ideas and potentials. To provide the children with the right tools and opportunities and to turn their ideas into reality, these competitions are about building a stronger, self reliant India driven by young entrepreneurs. Youth ideathon have instilled the awards to recognise the efforts of school Principals also who have transformed their schools into hubs of innovation and entrepreneurship. It is a proud moment for the school when Principal Vivek Tiwari the head of the institution was bestowed with Principal award in financial literacy among three Principals in North region, where more than 58,000 ideas were submitted from 6000 schools of Pan India wherein approximately 2 lakh students participated in every event. DAV Public School Patiala holds 5th position for submitting more than 1000 ideas among 6000 schools.

It is a matter of pride that Mrs Upaasna Madaan (incharge design ,thinking and innovation cell) was honoured fourth time with teacher of innovation award in silver category and grabbed silver medal with appreciation certificate. Mrs Neelu Jain (computer teacher) also clunched bronze medal and was honoured by teacher of innovation award thus adding another feather in the cap of DAV Patiala. It is a matter of immense pleasure that our students are among the top1% participants, our 6 ideas are selected in top 500.
Principal Vivek Tiwari congratulated and appreciated the hard work and efforts of Mrs. Upasna Madaan (incharge of design thinking and innovation cell) and her team for bringing laurels to this prestigious institution. He further applauded the mentors of her team, Mrs Neelu Jain, Mrs Navneet Kaur ,Mrs Anjali Gupta ,Mrs Kamini Sharma ,Mrs Radhika and Mrs Arshdeep for their conviction and dedication in this venture.
Each of the team was awarded with the amount of INR 1000 for further development of their prototype. The winner students were as follows:

  1. Sukhman Bhullar, Surpreet Singh and Nihaar of class 11th.
  2. Harinder Yavin and Anirudh of class 10th.
  3. Shamshray, Anant Kumar and Manas of class 10th.
  4. Karman Barjinder and jai of class 10th.
  5. RyanDhanjal, Shaurya and Sahibpreet Singh of class 10th.
  6. Hardik Gupta, Tan ish Taneja and sanchit Jain from class 9th.
  7. Mankirat,Hiten and Pranay of class 8.

This prestigious accolade was presented under the auspices of (management and entrepreneurship and professional skills council) and CBSE, for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the school.

DAV ORGANISES INTER HOUSE VOLLEYBALL MATCHES

To teach various skills to students like leadership, patience, discipline,team efforts, social skills  to increase confidence, mental alertness, and self-esteem, DAV Patiala organized the Inter House Volleyball Competition. In which many students from 9 to 12 class (senior category), 6 to 8 class (junior category) participated with zeal and spirit of sportsmanship.

The whole arena was reverberating with enthusiasm as the players of the four houses Maharishi Dayanand House, Mahatma Hansraj House, Swami Vivekanand House and Gurudev Tagore House competed on the volleyball court to lead their house for victory & glory The results are as follows:-

Winners-Mahatma Hansraj House (Senior category), Maharishi Dyanand House(Junior Category)

Runner ups-Swami Vivekanand House (Senior Category), Mahatma Hansraj House(junior Category)

Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships, uttering these words ,Principal Vivek Tiwari motivated the budding sportsmen in the conclusion ceremony. He further added that playing sports helps children learn to control their emotions and channel negative feelings in a positive way.  He applauded the efforts put in by the Physical Education teachers Mr Lal Singh, Mr Pritpal Singh and Ms Nitima Rani .
