In a small village lived a wise and kind doctor named Dr. Aryan. Dr. Aryan’s method of treatment was not limited to medicines. He always advised his patients to maintain mental peace and patience. He believed that patience is the greatest medicine, capable of curing every disease.
One day, a woman from the village, Sushila, came to Dr. Aryan with her son, Raju. Raju was 12 years old and had a high fever. Sushila, worried, said, “Doctor sahab, my son’s condition is very bad. He is lying in bed, and the fever won’t come down. Please do something quickly; I am very worried.”
Dr. Aryan looked at Sushila calmly and said, “Sushila ji, first, do not panic. Let me examine him thoroughly. Be patient, and we will cure him.”
Dr. Aryan examined Raju thoroughly and then prescribed medicine. After this, he told Sushila, “Raju has a common viral fever. It will take some time for him to recover. Be patient and treat him properly. He will get better soon.”
Sushila felt a little relieved, but she still had many questions in her mind. She asked, “Doctor sahab, can we do something more to speed up his recovery, so that Raju gets better soon?”
Dr. Aryan smiled and replied, “Sushila ji, along with treatment, the most important thing is patience. When we try to hurry things, we often face consequences. But if you remain patient and follow the treatment, your son’s condition will improve with time.”
Sushila followed the doctor’s advice and returned home. She gave Raju his medicines on time and took good care of him. Day by day, Raju’s health started improving, and after a few days, he had completely recovered.
Sushila now understood how true the doctor’s words were. She realized that patience is important not only during treatment but also in every aspect of life. By having patience, we can face any problem more effectively and find the right solutions.
A few weeks later, Sushila visited the doctor again. This time, she thanked him and said, “Doctor sahab, the advice you gave me to be patient really helped.” Raju is now completely healthy. I now understand that only with patience can we overcome difficulties.
Dr. Aryan smiled and said, “Sushila ji, it was your patience and faith that helped in curing Raju. Remember, patience is the greatest strength.”
