    District Election Officer conducts surprise visits to Booth Level Camps

    Special Booth Level Camps to be organized on 3rd December:

    District Election Officer: Says, Voters to join the camp for making new votes or corrections in the voter list. Patiala, 2nd December: Sakshi Sawhney, the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, instructed the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure the registration of the greatest number of youth during the special camps that the district administration is organizing at booths throughout the district while advocating for the maximum participation of youth, particularly first-time voters, in the election process.

    The Deputy Commissioner, during a surprise visit to the polling booths at Khalsa College and Income Tax Office, asked the BLOs to work diligently to achieve the target. Appreciating the crucial role of BLOs, the Deputy Commissioner said that these Booth Level Camps are being organized to cover all eligible voters of the district to ensure the participation of all voters in the electoral process, which is the motto of our democracy. He also said that all the B. L. L. Thiyaganjh. are sitting in their respective booths so that the voters can get the facility of various services at their doorsteps. As per the revision schedule, any person who has attained the age of 18 years on or before January 1, 2024, can register himself as a voter. He said that all the officers and employees associated with the improvement work have been asked to give priority to the registration of as many new voters as possible so that no one is deprived of their right to vote.

    Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the people arriving at the booth-level camps and also appealed to them to come forward to register their eligible young children as voters. He informed me that these booth-level camps will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Meanwhile, Sakshi Sawhney scrutinized the forms submitted by the BLOs working at the booth level and directed that the forms that have been submitted in the camp and their booth level report should be submitted immediately after the camp at the District Election Office.

    He said that the app developed by the Election Commission for BLOs should be used for the revision of electoral rolls and the creation of new votes so that the work could be expedited. Patiala Tehsildar Jinsu Bansal was also present on the occasion.
