To teach various skills to students like leadership, patience, discipline,team efforts, social skills  to increase confidence, mental alertness, and self-esteem, DAV Patiala organized the Inter House Volleyball Competition. In which many students from 9 to 12 class (senior category), 6 to 8 class (junior category) participated with zeal and spirit of sportsmanship.

The whole arena was reverberating with enthusiasm as the players of the four houses Maharishi Dayanand House, Mahatma Hansraj House, Swami Vivekanand House and Gurudev Tagore House competed on the volleyball court to lead their house for victory & glory The results are as follows:-

Digital finance campaign launched from village Mavi Sappa

The Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission has started a digital finance campaign in the villages under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahautsav in Block Patiala. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Isha Singhal, while giving information about the campaign, said that the main purpose of this digital finance camp at village Mavi Sappa is to make the villagers aware of digital financial transactions. Where on the one hand the women of the self-help group took training under the mission in their village, BC, are opening points, on the other hand, the government through these camps, B.C. In order to increase the work of Sakhi, work is being done to connect the villagers.
In the camp, Punjab Grameen Bank Manager Joginder Singh provided valuable information about digital transactions to the members participating in the camp. The bank manager informed the members about various schemes running in the bank and informed the villagers about insurance, a permanent pension scheme, a savings account, etc. The main purpose of this camp is to introduce the village bank correspondent, Sakhi, to the villagers. To give information about the facilities provided by Sakhi.
In the camp, B.C. Sakhi Rajwant Kaur informed the villagers, especially the women members present, about the various facilities for creating digital rural India. including savings accounts, digital money transactions, PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY, Sukanniya Samriddhi, Detailed information about health insurance is provided.
The camp was graced by Reena Rani, District Programme Manager, PSRLM, who motivated the rural poor women about digital transactions. Varun Prashar BPM PSRLM included in the camp the adoption of digital transactions along with the use of debit cards, credit cards, PPF, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, overdraft facilities, and checks. Detailed information about poor rural women was given. Apart from this, by giving examples of women’s empowerment, the members were motivated to prepare two to three means of livelihood per household under the Livelihood Mission. The Sarpanch of the village, Shri Krishna, strongly appreciated this campaign of the government for the villagers. Asked to connect with Sakhi for easy banking.
The bank manager, while discussing various schemes of the bank, encouraged the villagers to take advantage of the schemes. Seema Rani and Harjot Kaur, representatives of the Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission, gave a message to more and more rural poor women to join the mission. Rajindra Hospital will witness long awaited Cochlear Implant Surgeries soon

The government of India has empanelled Rajindra Government Medical College and Hospital, Patiala, for cochlear implant surgery under the ADIP scheme. Under the able guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Medical Education and Research Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, Rajindra Hospital & Medical College, Patiala, is ready to start the long-awaited cochlear implant surgeries, which would be done free of cost for poor patients. Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan) (AYJNISHD (D)) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

All surgeries shall be done by a team of specialist doctors, Dr. Sanjeev Bhagat, Prof. and Head, and Dr. Vishav Yadav, Assistant Professor, from the ENT Department. Prof. Sanjeev Bhagat said, “Any child below 5 years of age will be eligible for the implant regardless of family income. The cochlear implant surgery costs around 7 lakhs. It will be free of charge for people with a monthly income below Rs 22,500. One whose income falls between Rs 22,500 and Rs 30,000 will have to bear 50% of the cost of surgery. After the surgery, the child will receive speech therapy.

Divulging further details, Dr. Rajan Singla, Director Principal, Rajindra Hospital & Medical College, said, “The entire set-up of the cochlear implant will be created in the existing ENT department. A separate audiology wing will be built for cochlear implant patients rehabilitation. Once this facility is fully functional, people from Punjab won’t have to travel to PGI Chandigarh. It will decrease the burden on the patients”. Dr. Harnam Singh Rekhi, Medical Superintendent, Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, said, “Very soon, all the necessary infrastructure and manpower required will be procured on a priority basis to make this project successful.”
