DC Sakshi Sawhney Visits Head Post Office Patiala and Motivates Postal Staff

Deputy Commissioner of Patiala, Ms. Sakshi Sawhney, visited the Head Post Office Patiala today to motivate the postal staff and encourage them to perform their best.

She mentioned that the festival of love and affection between sisters and brothers, known as “Raksha Bandhan,” is just around the corner. Sisters express their feelings of love and affection for their brothers by tying specially designed and colorful sacred threads on their brothers’ wrists on this day.

Sakshi Sawhney emphasized that for those who cannot visit their brothers in person, India Post provides assistance in conveying their feelings and sentiments through “Rakhi Mail.”

Prabhat Goyal, Superintendent of Post Offices, Patiala Division, informed the DC that more than 1000 Rakhi Mails are posted and delivered on a daily basis by the Patiala Postal Division.

    Patiala, August 18:
    Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh held an important meeting at Mata Kaushalya Government Hospital here to strengthen the infrastructure of health services in government hospitals. On this occasion, he said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will give a new look to Mata Kaushalya Hospital under the priority given to education and health. He said that from September 1, a new and state-of-the-art emergency facility will be dedicated to the people.
    The Health Minister said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s dream is to provide people with better health services and immediate medical assistance in times of emergency near their homes, so apart from big hospitals like Rajindra Hospital, community health centers including district hospitals. Emergency services are also being strengthened. He said that while strengthening the emergency health services, the new ICU, trauma theater at Mata Kaushalya Hospital along with Nikku and Picku centers for new born children will also serve the patients.
    The Health Minister also discussed about making the new building for Badshahpur Hospital and the old building of Nabha Hospital ultramodern and new by renovating the old building of Nabha Hospital with consistent branding, painting, signage, Ott Center and Lab. He reviewed the progress of work on parking and new office for Civil Surgeon Patiala including Mata Kaushalya Hospital.
    Dr. Balbir Singh ordered the officials of concerned SMOs, Chief Architect, Public Works Department, Punjab Health System Corporation, Punjab Mandi Board and Public Health etc. departments to speed up the work and said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann There is no dearth of funds to strengthen the state’s health services.
    On this occasion, Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Vivek Pratap Singh, MD of Punjab Health System Corporation. Pardeep Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni, Director Health Department Dr. Adarshpal Kaur, Dr. Dr. Sudhir Verma, Civil Surgeon. Dr. Raminder Kaur, Medical Superintendent. Jagpal Inder Singh and other officials were also present.
    During the meeting, Dr. Balbir Singh emphasized the need for concerted efforts to revamp the health care infrastructure in the region and directed the officials to speed up the process of modernization of the hospital’s patient care facilities. He said that along with OPD and emergency sections, beautification of the hospital, waiting area, help desk, parking facilities and solar panels should be expedited.
    The Health Minister also emphasized on upgrading patient-friendly healthcare facilities such as modular operation theatres, sewage systems and sanitation in hospitals to provide better healthcare experience to patients. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, there is no dearth of funds to upgrade the health care system of patients in government hospitals.
    Dr. Balbir Singh said that under the initial phase, a comprehensive approach including aesthetic improvements and branding has been prepared to create a patient-friendly environment at four government hospitals: Patiala, Faridkot, Sangrur and Dhuri hospitals.

District Magistrate gives 10-day extension to 35 license holders working as travel agents in Patiala district to renew their licenses

    District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Patiala office has issued an order and has given 10 days more time to 35 license holders working as Oils, Consultancy, Travel Agent etc. in the district to renew their licenses. Additional District Magistrate-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Jagjit Singh said that the office of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Patiala issues licenses to those working as Oils, Consultancy, Travel Agent etc. under the said act. The duration of which is fixed at 5 years and it is mandatory to renew the license two months before its expiry but the 35 license holders have not yet renewed their licenses nor surrendered the licences. Therefore, they have been instructed to renew their licenses. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of their license and will not be considered for renewal.
