February 7:The Additional District Magistrate, in exercise of the powers vested under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974), may prohibit any kind of demonstration or protest sit-in, rallies, meetings, raising slogans, five or prohibitory orders have been issued on the gathering of more than five persons. In the issued order, it has been said that gathering of five or more persons, holding meetings, raising slogans, demonstrating, etc. is likely to disturb public peace and cause damage to government and non-government properties.

In such a situation, it is necessary to take appropriate steps to maintain the law and order situation in the state and to maintain public peace. The order, enforced by the Additional District Magistrate until April 5, 2024, will not apply to gatherings of security personnel, police personnel on duty, and children for government programmes, weddings, funeral functions, or studies in schools or colleges.

Additional District Magistrate Anuprita Johal, using the powers vested under Sub-section 1 of Section 3 of the Punjab Village and Small Town Patrol Act, 1918, inspected villages, railway tracks, canal bridges, canals, drains, and culverts within Patiala district. , Indian Oil Pipeline, Important Plants, Gas Pipeline Property, Electricity Transmission Lines, Granaries, Petrol Pumps, Banks, Post Offices in Rural and Urban Areas, Government and Non-Government Property, etc. Adults have been issued orders to maintain proper vigilance. The Additional District Magistrate has ordered that adults in sound health in all villages should be guarded against damage to power stations and supply lines, railway tracks, water supply schemes, canals, and drains, and to protect life and property. Corrective duty will be done by guarding. These orders will remain in force until February 5, 2024.
Order issued regarding strict vigil at religious places:
Additional District Magistrate, Patiala, Anuprita Johal, using the powers conferred under Section 3 of the Punjab Villages and Small Towns-Patrol Act, 1918, and Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, within the limits of Patiala district, conducted regular vigil at all places of worship in Patiala district. For installation, responsibility has been given to group panchayats of villages and heads of committees, boards, and trusts of religious places to keep proper vigil. These orders will remain in force in the district until February 5, 2024.
