Samana residents will get a new bus stand at a cost of Rs 6 crore. Jauramajra – A state-of-the-art bus stand will be built on 2 acres of land in place of the old bus stand, the Cabinet Minister said. The present government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, believes in working immediately instead of lorries. Samana, November 30: Samana city residents and passengers from the surrounding areas will be handed over a new bus stand at a cost of Rs 6 crore. Disclosing this here today, Punjab Information and Public Relations Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has fulfilled the long-pending demand of the people of Samana and has also released a grant for the same.

Chetan Singh Jauramajra visited the old bus stand at Samana today, where a new bus stand is to be constructed. He said that the work order has also been issued by issuing a tender for the construction of a new and state-of-the-art bus stand on 2 acres of land here. He said that a solar system and rainwater harvesting system would also be installed on the roof of the bus stand. The Minister for Mines and Geology, Water Resources, Water and Soil Conservation, Horticulture, Freedom Fighters, and Defence Services Welfare, Jauramajra, said that the present government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, does not believe in plowing the fields like the previous governments but believes in doing the work immediately.

Jauramajra said that even during the previous governments, the residents of Samana were engaged in the construction of this bus stand, but this bus stand was never built. But the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann, understood the problems of the residents of Samana and immediately released a grant for this. He said that the work on the new bus stand is going to start very soon. On this occasion, Mr. Charanjit Singh, Executive Officer, Mr. Barjinder Singh, Principal Architect, Chandigarh, Mr. Bachittar Singh, Senior Architect, Mr. Sanch Kapoor, and Mr. Aniket gave information about the design and other aspects of the new bus stand. Charanjit Kaur, a senior assistant at Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and a player for the Indian women’s hockey team, received a warm reception at the PSPCL Head Office in Patiala on Thursday in a heartwarming celebration of her professional accomplishments and athletic prowess.

Charanjit Kaur and six other outstanding Punjabi women were instrumental in helping the Indian team win a bronze medal in the World Masters Asian Hockey Championship, which took place in Hong Kong from November 19–26.

Charanjit Kaur was personally welcomed by PSPCL Director of Administration Jasbir Singh Sur Singh, who acknowledged her exceptional contribution to the national squad. Er. Tej Pal Bansal, the PSPCL Sports Cell’s Deputy Chief Engineer and Technical Co-In-Charge, accompanied Director Admin on this occasion.

Punjab Finance, Excise, and Taxation and Planning Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today dedicated a petrol pump of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) outside Central Jail Patiala to the people.

Chandigarh, December 1: On this occasion, SSP Harjit Singh, SDM Sandeep Kumar, ADC (D) Parveen Kumar, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jugal Kishore, SP Sukhdev Singh Virk, SP Sharanjit Singh, all DSPs, and health department officials, among others, were also present. Speaking on the occasion, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, continuous work is being done for the overall development of Punjab, and under this series, the work of installing new machinery for the work of prisoners inside the jails of Punjab is going on, and 12 petrol pumps are also being installed outside the jails in the state.

He said that so far, four petrol pumps have been set up at Ludhiana, Rupnagar, Hoshiarpur, and Ferozepur, and today the fifth petrol pump has been dedicated to the people of Patiala. He said that with the setting up of the petrol pump, the revenue of the jail department would increase, and this money would be spent only for the improvement of the jail department. He said that this petrol pump (Ujala Fuels), run by the Punjab Jail Development Board and Ça.Hya.C., would also be operated by prisoners with good conduct. He said that those who are serving their sentence in jail for some reason or another will not only improve themselves by staying inside the jail but will also get a chance to perform their duties outside the jail due to the efforts of the Jail Department. He said that this would help the inmates to keep themselves mentally and physically fit and also provide them with income.

Mr. Harpal Singh Cheema said that work is also being done to improve the health of the prisoners in the jails, under which Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh is working for the health of the prisoners at Patiala Central Jail and CM’s Yogshala is also being run. On the occasion, SSP Jails Arun Pal Singh said that state-of-the-art machinery has been installed to add fuel to the Ujala Fuel at Central Jail Patiala, and a petrol pump along with a cafe, bakery, and retail outlet have also been set up. District Election Officer conducts surprise visits to Booth Level Camps

Special Booth Level Camps to be organized on 3rd December:

District Election Officer: Says, Voters to join the camp for making new votes or corrections in the voter list. Patiala, 2nd December: Sakshi Sawhney, the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, instructed the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure the registration of the greatest number of youth during the special camps that the district administration is organizing at booths throughout the district while advocating for the maximum participation of youth, particularly first-time voters, in the election process.

The Deputy Commissioner, during a surprise visit to the polling booths at Khalsa College and Income Tax Office, asked the BLOs to work diligently to achieve the target. Appreciating the crucial role of BLOs, the Deputy Commissioner said that these Booth Level Camps are being organized to cover all eligible voters of the district to ensure the participation of all voters in the electoral process, which is the motto of our democracy. He also said that all the B. L. L. Thiyaganjh. are sitting in their respective booths so that the voters can get the facility of various services at their doorsteps. As per the revision schedule, any person who has attained the age of 18 years on or before January 1, 2024, can register himself as a voter. He said that all the officers and employees associated with the improvement work have been asked to give priority to the registration of as many new voters as possible so that no one is deprived of their right to vote.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the people arriving at the booth-level camps and also appealed to them to come forward to register their eligible young children as voters. He informed me that these booth-level camps will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Meanwhile, Sakshi Sawhney scrutinized the forms submitted by the BLOs working at the booth level and directed that the forms that have been submitted in the camp and their booth level report should be submitted immediately after the camp at the District Election Office.

He said that the app developed by the Election Commission for BLOs should be used for the revision of electoral rolls and the creation of new votes so that the work could be expedited. Patiala Tehsildar Jinsu Bansal was also present on the occasion.
