Prohibition of carrying licensed firearms in marriage palaces at the time of marriage

Additional District Magistrate Anuprita Johal, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974), has ordered all marriage palaces, hotels, community halls, and places where marriage programs or events are held within the limits of District Patiala. Parties are organized, and a total ban has been issued on the carrying of firearms by any licensed person on the occasion of the event and firing in the sky for public display. These orders will remain in force in the district until February 5, 2024.

It has been said in the order that it has become a common sight that some people in marriage palaces carry their licenses with firearms during weddings and during functions. After drinking alcohol, etc., these persons take weapons and fire while performing Bhangra on the stage. There are those who become a threat to the lives of the people present in the palace; many people have lost their lives in such incidents. It is worth mentioning that there are written boards regarding carrying weapons in the palaces, but no one is following these boards. Hence, it has to be ensured to prevent any person from bringing licensed firearms into the marriage palaces or hotels so that no untoward incident takes place in the marriage palaces or hotels in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to take appropriate steps to maintain law and order and protect people’s lives and property.
Owners, managers, and administrators of all marriage palaces, hotels, and community halls located in Patiala District shall ensure compliance with these orders.

In Patiala district, a 500-meter area around jails has been declared a no-drone zone.

Additional District Magistrate Anuprita Johal, using the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974), has declared the area of jails and 500 meters around the jails as a no drone zone in Patiala district. These orders will remain in force until February 3, 2024, and legal action will be initiated against the violators.
Drones are becoming more well-liked and accessible to the general public, which is raising concerns about potential security breaches and threats, according to a letter from the Director General of Police in Punjab. The potential misuse of drones for unauthorized surveillance near prisons, smuggling of narcotics (mobiles, drugs, weapons, etc.), facilitating escape attempts, and even terrorist attacks aimed at challenging state sovereignty can’t be denied. Such unauthorized drone flights near prisons pose a serious threat, exposing prisons to security breaches. Keeping the security of the jails in mind, it is necessary to declare the area of the jails and the 500-meter area around the jails as a no-drone zone.

A complete ban has been issued. This order issued by the Additional District Magistrate will remain in force until February 5, 2024.

Member Secretary of Punjab Legal Services Authority inspected the office of District Legal Services Authority Patiala

Sh. Manjinder Singh, Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, visited the Alternative Dispute Redressal (ADR) Centre, District Courts Complex Patiala, to supervise its work. He inspected the records being maintained in the Legal Aid Defense Counsel system as well as the front office, DLSA office, and Patiala. During this visit, he interacted with retainer lawyers in the front office as well as legal aid defense counsels. Ms. Manni Arora, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, was also present there.

On this occasion, he said that the National Lok Adalat pertaining to pre-litigative cases and all types of pending cases in the courts and tribunals, i.e., cheque bounce cases, money recovery cases, labor and employment disputes cases, electricity, water bills, and other bill payment cases, maintenance cases, cases of criminal compoundable offenses, MACT cases, land acquisition cases, service matters relating to pay and allowances and retirement benefits, revenue cases, and other civil cases (such as rent, easmentary rights, injunction suits, specific performance suits, etc.), is going to be held in District Patiala on 09.12.2023. For this purpose, benches of judicial courts will be constituted at Patiala, Rajpura, Samana, and Nabha.

He further said that the primary objective of the Lok Adalats is to settle disputes amicably through compromise, so as to save the time and money of the parties and reduce personal enmity between them. Except for non-compoundable criminal cases, all kinds of cases, even at the pre-litigative stage, can be brought before Lok Adalat for amicable settlement. He also said that when a case is settled in Lok Adalat, its award becomes final and no appeal lies against it. Moreover, court fees (if any) are refunded to the parties, and parties to a dispute get speedy disposal of their dispute as well, as per their own mutually settled terms. So, there is a win-win situation for both parties.

As such, an appeal is made to the public to put forward their pending disputes before the upcoming Lok Adalats so as to save their valuable time and hard-earned money. For this purpose, every litigant willing to settle through Lok Adalat can request the presiding officer of the concerned court where his case is pending. Even in compoundable criminal cases, a party can file an application for bringing up the matter in Lok Adalat. In case of a pre-litigative matter, a request can be made to the Ld. PSPCL Director Admin Jasbir Singh Sur Singh meets with representatives from several organizations.

Jasbir Singh Sur Singh, the Director of Administration of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), held talks with representatives from various circles to improve and maintain continuous energy supply.

The aim of these continuous conversations, spearheaded by Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is to continuously enhance power distribution and offer superior electrical services to consumers. Director Admin Jasbir Singh Sur Singh met at the highest level with representatives from Tarn Taran, Amritsar City, Civil Subdivision Amritsar, and P and M Circle Amritsar as part of this project.

The introduction of feeder-wise metering in Tarn Taran was discussed throughout the sessions, with an emphasis on initiating the installation of prepaid meters. Preparing the plan to include those who have installed single- and three-phase private transformers in the PSPCL system was another topic of discussion.

In addition, officials were urged to compile information on the computers needed in the workplace for the benefit of patrons and to forward the information to the IT department.

Additionally, Director Admin talked about the potential for the Border Zone area to host a solar installation program. Sur Singh also addressed the issue of open posts in the Tarn Taran Circle’s part-time cleaning crew and gave officials instructions to submit the necessary information so that the positions may be filled.

In addition, he investigated the status of moving the tubewells that are linked to the municipal feeders and requested information on them.

They can avail of a lump sum settlement scheme for 100 percent waiver of interest and penalty at the rate of 20 percent. She is ADC here today to evaluate the performance of city councils and city panchayats in the district. Urban Development Navreet Kaur Sekhon and his group were meeting with the officers. 
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has given a huge financial facility to the urban taxpayers of Punjab State by issuing the Lump Sum Settlement Scheme. etc. can deposit the property tax or house tax due until December 31, 2023, without interest or penalty at the concerned Municipal Council office. 
Sakshi Sahni further informed us that from January 1, 2024, to March 31, 2024, interest and a penalty of 50 percent will be charged on the payment of property tax or house tax. After this, full interest and penalties will be charged on the payment of the property tax or house. Therefore, all the residents of Rajpura, Patdar, Samana, Nabha, Patdar, Sanur, Ghagga, Ghanore, and Bhadson have been requested to submit their property tax or house tax within the stipulated time to get the maximum benefit of the scheme given by the government.

Taking a historic step to maintain the health of students studying in government schools, Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains launched the Ayushman Bharat School Health and Wellness Program today. Addressing the gathering at the auditorium of the Government Medical College here, Dr. Balbir Singh and Harjot Bains termed this program a new milestone to make the students of government schools in the state healthy.
Dr. Balbir Singh said that the present government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is the first such government after the independence of the country and has made health and education its first priority. He said that earlier this program was started at Moga and Ferozepur, where more than 850 health and fitness ambassadors are being trained and the health of students is being monitored. Emphasizing the importance of male health for future citizens and students, the Health Minister said, ‘The launch of the School Health and Wellness Program in Patiala marks a revolutionary change in how the state government perceives the welfare of society. Under this program, around 752 health and wellness ambassadors are being trained in Patiala district.
Dr. Balbir Singh said that India ranks 115th in the stunting and hunger index, which is why the Punjab government is leaving no stone unturned to reverse this trend by revolutionizing the health and education sectors. Dr. Balbir Singh also directed the health officials to conduct regular inspections of the food served in the schools to ensure quality food is provided to the students. The Health Minister also informed that the Aam Aadmi Clinic model of Punjab has been awarded as the best health model among 85 countries in the recent health conference, and the government plans to double the number of yoga camps under ‘CM’s Yogashala’.
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that a comprehensive health examination of 30 lakh students studying in government schools in the state will be conducted so that the health of the students can be strengthened and, at the same time, the strength of their shoulders will be tested through a sports battery test. Sports talent will also be identified. Harjot Singh Bains congratulated the health department for this initiative and assured full support from the education department for the implementation of this program. A mission is underway.

District Election Officer conducts surprise visits to Booth Level Camps

Special Booth Level Camps to be organized on 3rd December:

District Election Officer: Says, Voters to join the camp for making new votes or corrections in the voter list. Patiala, 2nd December: Sakshi Sawhney, the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, instructed the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure the registration of the greatest number of youth during the special camps that the district administration is organizing at booths throughout the district while advocating for the maximum participation of youth, particularly first-time voters, in the election process.

The Deputy Commissioner, during a surprise visit to the polling booths at Khalsa College and Income Tax Office, asked the BLOs to work diligently to achieve the target. Appreciating the crucial role of BLOs, the Deputy Commissioner said that these Booth Level Camps are being organized to cover all eligible voters of the district to ensure the participation of all voters in the electoral process, which is the motto of our democracy. He also said that all the B. L. L. Thiyaganjh. are sitting in their respective booths so that the voters can get the facility of various services at their doorsteps. As per the revision schedule, any person who has attained the age of 18 years on or before January 1, 2024, can register himself as a voter. He said that all the officers and employees associated with the improvement work have been asked to give priority to the registration of as many new voters as possible so that no one is deprived of their right to vote.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the people arriving at the booth-level camps and also appealed to them to come forward to register their eligible young children as voters. He informed me that these booth-level camps will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Meanwhile, Sakshi Sawhney scrutinized the forms submitted by the BLOs working at the booth level and directed that the forms that have been submitted in the camp and their booth level report should be submitted immediately after the camp at the District Election Office.

He said that the app developed by the Election Commission for BLOs should be used for the revision of electoral rolls and the creation of new votes so that the work could be expedited. Patiala Tehsildar Jinsu Bansal was also present on the occasion.

According to the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni presided over the meeting of the Nabha Think Tank and discussed making the master plan for Nabha. During this, discussions were also held on the industrial zones of Rajpura and Patiala, including taking suggestions from the representatives of the industries, including the officials of various departments.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the draft of the master plan for Nabha has been prepared, and therefore it was sent to the Punjab Regional and Town Planning and Development Board meeting chaired by the Chief Minister after taking the objections and suggestions of the people and related industries. This plan has again been sent for consideration by Nabha Think Tank, and in view of this, the amendments to this master plan have been discussed today.
Meanwhile, the industrial zones being built here for the industrial development of Rajpura and Patiala were also discussed. Sakshi Sahni said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has approved the bridge to be built over the river near the industrial focal point of Patiala, and all the NOCs required for it have also been found, and its construction will be done very soon. He said that for the development of all the focal points of the district, the Punjab government has drawn up a proposal, which is being implemented rapidly so that our industrialists do not face any difficulty.
On the occasion of this meeting, ADC Anuprita Johal and SDM Nabha Tarsem Chand were present. While running the meeting, District Town Planner (Planning), Dr. Seema Kaushal, gave information about the industrial zones of Patiala and Rajpura, including the Nabha Master Plan. On this occasion, DTP Regulatory Harinder Sandhu, ATP Ramandeep Kaur, and representatives of industrialists from Nabha Bhada, Patiala, and Rajpura, along with officials from other departments, were also present.

It is a key economic indicator that reflects the number of people within a specific population who are willing and able to work but are currently unemployed.  

– Importance of addressing unemployment in India :  The issue of unemployment in India is of great significance due to its impact on the overall economic growth and social stability of the country. High levels of unemployment can lead to various socio-economic problems such as poverty, inequality, and crime. Additionally, addressing unemployment is crucial for ensuring inclusive development and improving the standard of living for all citizens.  

Overview of the employment situation in 2022 in India

By 2024–2025, the Indian economy is expected to reach a GDP of USD 5 trillion, and job creation is positively impacted by economic growth. In order to stimulate economic activity, the Budget 2021–22 drastically increased funding for government investment, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the implementation. Strong growth has been further stimulated by Budget 2022–22, where capital expenditures have increased by 35.40% to Rs 7.50 lakh crore from Rs 5.54 lakh crore in the current fiscal year. This expenditure, which represents 2.9% of GDP, will enhance employment conditions in the nation in addition to stimulating economic growth.

The growth of startups, the rise in newly registered businesses, the enrollment of workers in the organized sector, and the employment prospects in emerging industries like AI, cloud computing, data analytics, and automation under IT/ITES are all signs that the government’s persistent efforts to inject capital and boost the country’s economy are beginning to pay off. Additionally, the monthly net addition to EPF subscriptions in 2021 has exceeded the amounts in the comparable months of the year prior to the pandemic in 2019. The demand for MGNREGS work has steadied following the second COVID wave, suggesting that the disruption caused by the pandemic is lessening and that employment opportunities are opening up in other areas.

The Economic Survey noted that employment peaked during the statewide lockdown in 2020. There are more job prospects in India, according to the Quarterly Employment Survey (QES) and EPFO payroll statistics. From July to September 2021, the total employment in nine industries was predicted to be 3.10 crore. The welfare of laborers and workers in both the organized and unorganized sectors is a top priority for the government, which is headed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra.

The All-India Quarterly Establishment-based Employment Survey, or AQEES, offers quarterly updates on employment and associated variables of establishments in nine specific sectors, both organized and unorganized, which make up the vast majority of all non-farm establishment employment. The masonry industry accounted for about 39% of all jobs in the sectors we selected, followed by the education sector (22%), the health sector (10%), and the IT/BPO sector (10%). 5.3% and 4.6% of all estimated workers were employed in the trade and transportation industries, respectively. 32.1 percent of workers were women overall, which is more than the 29.3% reported in the QES’s first round. Just 2% of the anticipated workforce in the chosen industries is made up of casual workers, making up 87% of regular workers.

The largest employer is the IT/BPO industry, which is expected to generate 4.47 million direct jobs in FY 2020–2021. For 14 important industrial sectors, India has announced plans to invest Rs. 1.97 lakh crore in production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes, which would commence in FY 2021–2022. Over the course of the next five years and beyond, the programs hope to significantly increase production, employment, and economic growth. The Finance Minister’s statement about the Union Budget 2022–2023 emphasized the positive response to the PLI initiatives, which have the potential to generate 60 lakh jobs and an additional Rs 30 lakh crore of production over the next five years. Key Starting Materials (KSMs), Drug Intermediates (DIs), Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing, Medical Device Manufacturing, Electronic/Technology Products, Pharmaceuticals Drugs, Products Related to Telecom & Networking, Food Products, White Goods (ACs & LED), Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery, Textile Products, Specialty Steel, and Drones and Drone Components are just a few of the industries where PLI schemes have been introduced.

The Union Cabinet, presided over by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, approved the proposal to offer financial incentives equal to 25% of capital expenditure for the production of goods that make up the supply chain for an electronic product. The incentive outlay of roughly Rs. 3,252 crore and the administrative costs of Rs. 32 crore make up the scheme’s total estimated cost of Rs. 3,285 crore. Road infrastructure, the aviation industry, the start-up environment, and Made in India programs are among the sectors pushing capital expenditure (CAPEX) to increase employment. The aforementioned measures are designed to facilitate corporate operations, foster innovation, establish industry-leading manufacturing infrastructure, empower entrepreneurs, and improve talent development. In India, the number of bank branches has grown dramatically, and this growth is directly correlated with the creation of jobs.

The Aatmanirbhar Bharat Package (ABRY), Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA), Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), and Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) are just a few of the employment-boosting initiatives that the government has been supporting. October 2020 saw the introduction of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (ABRY), which provided employers with incentives for new hires and social security benefits amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Up until November 2021, PMMY offers individuals and micro/small businesses collateral-free loans up to Rs. 10 lakh, with a total sanctioned sum of Rs. 31.28 crore.

A significant credit-linked subsidy program called the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) aims to create self-employment prospects by establishing microenterprises in the non-farm sector. Launched in June 2020, the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA) aims to engage in 125 days of work to increase employment and livelihood prospects for migrant workers returning home and affected individuals living in rural regions. The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) is a demand-driven wage employment program that offers households whose adult members volunteer to perform unskilled manual labor at least one hundred days of guaranteed wage employment per financial year.

Since 2016, PMRPY has been in place to encourage firms to hire new employees and integrate undocumented individuals into the formal labor force. With the use of the National Career Service Portal (NCS) initiative, the National Employment Service will be able to offer a range of employment-related services, such as career counseling, job matching, apprenticeships, internships, and vocational coaching. The adoption of cutting-edge technology like automation, robotics, AR/VR, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) is predicted to shape future job roles in important industries.

Many rural areas lack industries and businesses that can provide employment opportunities, forcing people to migrate to urban areas in search of work. Additionally, limited access to education and skills training in rural areas hinders the ability of individuals to compete for available jobs, perpetuating the cycle of unemployment.

Many individuals may not have the necessary skills or qualifications required for the available job opportunities, leading to a mismatch between the skills of the workforce and the demands of the job market. Furthermore, the education system in rural areas may not adequately prepare students for the job market, leaving them at a disadvantage when seeking employment.

Rashmika Mandanna Teaches Kannada To Ranbir Kapoor!

A video of Rashmika Mandanna teaching Kannada to Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has gone viral.

The two actors were spotted together outside of ‘Indian Idol 14’ where Rashmika is seen trying to teach basic words of Kannada. They had arrived at the set of the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 14’ to promote their latest film ‘Animal’.

Ranbir playfully inquired whether the photographers were creating a documentary featuring them. Furthermore, when the paparazzi requested Rashmika to say something in Kannada, Ranbir joined in the conversation, attempting to familiarize himself with some Kannada words.

They proceeded to discuss basic greetings and inquired about the Kannada terms for tea and coffee.

The two actors are currently busy with the promotions of ‘Animal’ which will hit the screens on December 1. The film has Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, Babloo Prithiveeraj and others in the supporting roles.

ED Summons Actor Prakash Raj

Actor Prakash Raj has been called by the Enforcement Directorate to appear for questioning in a money laundering case related to a fraud and ponzi scheme that involves an estimated Rs 100 crore against a jewelry firm located in Tiruchirapalli, official sources said on Thursday.

The probe concerns a case against Pranav Jewellers, a Tiruchirapalli-based partnership firm that was raided on November 20 and where it was alleged that certain gold items and “unexplained” cash totaling Rs 23.70 lakh were taken.

Raj (58) has served as this company’s brand ambassador. Next week, in Chennai, he is scheduled to give a deposition before the federal agency. The actor, who has portrayed a variety of characters in South Indian and Hindi films, has been a vocal opponent of the BJP.

An FIR from the Tamil Nadu Police Economic Offenses Wing is the basis for the ED case.

The federal agency said in a statement on Wednesday that Pranav Jewellers and others allegedly obtained Rs 100 crore from the public under the pretense of a gold investment plan with the promise of large profits.
